How about some good news today? For those paying close attention, we released agent version 4.10 last week for both Mac and PC platforms. This agent includes several small quality-of-life fixes due to an updated Python library and other little tweaks and tunes. We’ve permanently deprecated the older, now unsupported, render applications from view, which cleans up the Submit Job tab a bit.
The biggest news, though, is that the in-app plugin for C4D has been updated to work across all presently-supported versions of Cinema 4D deployed to the farm! There were a number of required changes to the codebase to get it to run in that many C4D builds. One of the more humorous work arounds was needed to deal with a change in the C4D Python library that fixed a spelling error from “seperator” to “separator”. Funny how code breaks when things aren’t spalled correctly.
Those issues have been addressed, though, so you can once again install the plugin in Cinema 4D via the Plugins tab on the agent. This gives you the ability to support takes directly out of C4D, and it streamlines the submission process by running “Save Project with Assets” for you…often omitted by new users of our service in particular.
The agent self-updates, as usual, and our regular clients are already running it. Open up the agent and give it a spin!
